A lot of time, research and money have been invested by our government and the private sector to improve our standard of living. Modern technology has greatly improved our lives to the degree that we live in a high level of comfort. Water, our basic source of life is certainly our friend, but if not cared for and respected, can become our enemy. Water is the world’s most dynamic element. It exists in the form of vapor, when cooled turns to liquid, and when frozen becomes ice. It functions continuously in all three forms twenty four hours a day, seven days a week. Once in our basement, if we neglect our essential friend, we are only asking for trouble. Property and structural damage (certainly a concern to all of us) is merely the financial repercussion, but clearly the health cost of allergies, asthma, and other health problems is a much graver concern. Living in Ontario, our four seasons only speed up the process of water damage.
