WATERPROOFING INSIDE Installing, Replacing, Servicing
At least one or a few factors can inform us to waterproof our basement from the inside. For example: lack of space for excavation, type of foundation basement walls, topographical location, and sometimes our budget. Of course, there are many other possible reasons that relate to the circumstances that we might face. Description of Sump Pump Installation: * Basement floor needs to be cut along the wall approximately 1 foot in width. * By removing concrete and soil we create a trench approximately 1 foot deep. * Weeping tiles (4 inch diameter pipes that are corrugated and flexible with many small holes around them) are laid on the bottom of the trench. * A 3/4 inch of gravel is then used to cover the weeping tiles. * The ends of the weeping tiles can then reach their destination in the basin of the sump pump. This will be the place where all the water collected from along the walls will drain and exit out by the sump pump. * Sheets of plastic membrane (DELTA-MS) will be anchored to the basement wall.
